Offshore trust cost: get an indicative quote for your trust
Offshore trust cost depends on the place, the structure and the work involved. The set-up fee for a standard trust is published for every place and spans USD 5,500 to USD 23,000 across the 40 places; yearly and event work are quoted after we review your case. An indicative quote is an estimate, not an offer.
Set-up fees shown are One Pacific Trust fees in US dollars for the standard scope described, before government, registry, bank and other third-party charges, which are passed through at cost or billed to you directly. Annual administration, event-based work and anything outside the standard scope are quoted after we review your case. A published fee is not an offer and is not tax or legal advice; the terms that apply are those set out in writing when you engage us.

Who acts locally
A local partner acts as trustee.
How long it takes
Time to set up: depends on your documents.
What the quote covers
The quote follows the life of a trust: setting it up, running it each year, and the events that come up along the way, such as adding a beneficiary, paying a distribution or moving the trust. Each line says what it is for.
Where a line depends on facts we only learn in your consultation, it says it is quoted after review. We do not hide a gap in a round number.
What drives trust set-up cost
Five things move the quote most: the place, the type of structure, the size band of the assets, the number of beneficiaries and the kinds of asset the trust will hold. A private trust company, or assets in more than one place, adds work and shows as its own line.
In places where a local partner takes a role, the partner has its own work to do and the quote shows it.
Five things that move a quote.

How trustee fees are usually structured
A trustee typically charges in three parts: a one-time charge to set up, a yearly charge to administer, and separate charges for events outside the routine. Our quote has the same shape, so you can see which part you are paying for.
Trust administration fees recur for as long as the trust runs, which is why the yearly line matters when you compare places. Charges also differ by place, because local rules and local partners differ.
What we can arrange alongside the trust
Four services are arranged next to the trust and each is quoted on its own.
Holding company
Bank account introduction
Accounting and audit
Asset management
Arranged through partner firms or group companies.
Each of these is quoted separately.

FAQ
Questions about the cost of a trust
How much does it cost to set up a trust?
The set-up fee for a standard trust is published for each place in the fee table on this page. The yearly line and the event lines are quoted after we review your case. Choose your place and start the quote further down this page, or book a call and we will walk through the lines with you.
Normally yes, for as long as the trust runs. In our quote the yearly line stands on its own, apart from set-up, so you can see what recurs and what does not. A distribution or a change of beneficiary is charged when it happens, not yearly.
Is the quote binding?
No. It is an indicative estimate built from your answers, not an offer and not tax or legal advice. Nothing is agreed until the terms are set out in writing, after review of your documents and the facts of your case. You decide at that point whether to go ahead.
What makes a quote higher or lower?
The five drivers are listed earlier on this page: where the trust sits, which structure you choose, the asset size band, how many beneficiaries there are and what kinds of asset the trust holds. In the quote each driver shows as its own line, so you can see which choice moved the figure and by how much, before you decide anything.

Setting up, the law and tax
What happens, step by step, when you set up an offshore trust?
First agree the purpose and who should benefit. Your lawyer drafts the deed under the chosen law while the trustee checks identity and the source of the assets. After signing, the assets move into the trustee’s name and are recorded. The guide shows each stage in more detail.
Usually the owner transfers the shares or membership interest to the trustee under the deed, after checking the company’s own documents and any consent a lender or partner must give. The trustee then holds the interest and the company carries on. Company, tax and local law checks come first, so involve your lawyer.
Yes, in the places whose law provides for them. A trust needs a lawful purpose, a valid deed under its governing law, and taxes and reporting dealt with where the people involved live. It cannot be used to hide assets, defeat existing creditors or evade tax. A trustee will refuse a trust whose purpose or funding it cannot confirm.
It depends on where the settlor, the beneficiaries, the trustee and the assets are, and on the law that governs the trust. Many countries tax trust income or distributions in the hands of the people they treat as owners or recipients, and exchange account data under international reporting rules. We do not give tax advice, so ask your own adviser before you sign.
How long does it take to appoint a Hong Kong trustee?
Time depends mostly on how quickly documents arrive and on checks by banks and registries outside our control, so we do not promise a date. Once you apply, the client portal shows each step and what is outstanding, and a 30-minute call sets out what to prepare first.
The cost depends on the structure, the places and assets involved, how many parties the trustee must check, and how much work the trust needs each year. We publish the set-up fee for each place; annual administration and event-based work are quoted after we review your case. Banking, legal and registry charges outside our control can add to it.
A trustee can borrow only if the deed and the governing law allow it. A lender will usually ask to see the deed, the trustee’s authority and the purpose of the loan. Some deeds limit borrowing or need a protector’s consent. Ask a lawyer before approaching a lender.
What is asset management, and is it what a trustee does?
Asset management means running investments for a client, usually under a licence. A trustee does something different: it holds the assets, checks instructions against the deed, approves distributions and keeps the record. A bank or licensed manager that the deed allows for can run the investments.
